We are delighted to be recruiting for a Buyer on behalf of an award-winning, fast-paced manufacturing business based in Bridgwater, Somerset.
Due to significant business growth and expansion, we are looking for a proactive procurement professional to join a thriving team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a stable role within a company that values development and operational excellence.
What you'll do
- Managing the end-to-end procurement process to ensure materials are sourced efficiently and arrive on time.
- Raising and processing purchase orders with high levels of accuracy.
- Liaising with suppliers to negotiate pricing, obtain quotations, and resolve delivery or quality queries.
- Monitoring stock levels and supporting inventory management to prevent production delays.
- Maintaining precise supplier records and ensuring ERP system data is up to date.
- Working closely with the Production, Warehouse, and Finance teams to support overall business objectives.
- Assisting with cost analysis and supplier performance reviews to drive informed procurement decisions.
What you'll need
- Previous experience within a buying, procurement, or purchasing role (ideally within manufacturing).
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with suppliers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems is highly desirable (though training can be provided).
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with meticulous attention to detail.
