Commercial Pipefitter – Renewable Energy / Biomass, Tiverton, Somerset
Recruiting on behalf of an established and growing renewable energy company for a Commercial Pipefitter to join their specialist engineering team based in Tiverton.
This is a great opportunity to join a well-established business specialising in the installation, servicing and development of commercial biomass boiler systems across the UK.
The role would suit an experienced Pipefitter, Plumber or Mechanical Engineer looking to develop their skills within the renewable energy sector. Full industry-specific training will be provided.
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Typically 8:30am–5:00pm, with flexibility required due to the field-based nature of the role.
What you'll do
- Installing commercial biomass boiler systems and associated pipework
- Working from technical drawings and installation specifications
- Pre-commissioning checks, snagging and testing
- Fault finding, servicing and repairs
- Attending breakdowns and identifying remedial work
- Completing site reports and documentation
- Working safely and professionally on client sites
- Supporting projects from installation through to completion
What you'll need
- Previous experience in Pipefitting, Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering or a similar environment.
- Commercial or industrial engineering experience
- Good understanding of mechanical systems and installation
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to travel nationally and stay away overnight when required
- Formal qualifications are not essential where you have relevant practical experience, as full training will be provided.
- Welding experience, IPAF/PASMA qualifications and previous biomass or commercial boiler experience would be advantageous but are not essential.
